June 2006

Another successful morning with Paige. I keep missing Emma, although this morning I didn't know they were awake yet. They can be so quiet at times. Shocking, especially if you have ever heard them play in their cribs. Seriously its like an earthquake.
Emma did stay dry for her nap yesterday though so thats still fantastic progress.

Well I decided to try something last night to see how ready my girls are for potty training. They had their last drink at supper and went to bed at 7pm. I put them in diapers but decided that if they took them off that I would not put them back on to see if they could make it through the night. Well I checked on them @ 7:30pm and of course the diapers were off. I figured we clean their sheets pretty much everyday, it wouldn't hurt if they peed again. I checked on them before I went to bed at 11pm and they were dry. I woke up in the middle of the night around 3am and they were dry still. I was awake around 6:30am but I was way too tired to get them up to see if they needed to go potty. I thought to myself how stupid I was for experiementing with this, lol. Well I heard one whining a bit and I new that meant they peed. This was at 7:15am. I got up and it was Emma. Poor girl, now I beat myself up for not getting to her sooner. Paige was dry so I took her to the potty and within 3 minutes she peed. YAY!!!
So I believe the ladies are getting ready for the potty training, now *I* just need to be ready. I think we will try this a few more times and then I will work on day training. Day training will be harder cause I need to tackle 2.
So I guess you could say this was a great potty success story :-)!!!

Just thought I would do a little update since it has been 2 months. Really not much has been going on though. Our whole car accident thing got settled and we are enjoying the luxury of our new Aztek, it is awesome!! We have been spending lots of time playing outside especially when the weather is great. The girls are really enjoying their little pool thanks to the neighbors who generously handed it down to us. We have a bigger pool but we don't have a fence so we can set it up.
Emma & Paige have actually been spending tons of time with their Daddy since I have been working a lot. One day Daddy actually brought them for a 10km walk around Winnipeg. They had a blast and even came to visit me at work :-)! They have gone to the park lots too. It is amazing to see how they can climb the ladders/monkey bars without any fear or help. Just a few months ago they were babies and now they are full blown little girls. Where does the time go??
The girls are getting so big and changing so much. I think they actually grew a few inches, thank goodness. Those children have no hope with the genes they were given for height. They can now talk in complete sentences and communicate so well. We get TONS of hugs, kisses & cuddles which continues to melt our hearts.
We also decided not to do the potty training just yet. They are showing tons of signs but the both of us aren’t home together long enough to tackle it. We do what we can and they are responding well for now. Probably when the summer is over we will attempt the potty training. They have gone in the potty a few times. For now we just fight with them to keep their diapers on during nap & bedtime, they just do not want to go to sleep with their diapers on. They pee in them once they get into bed and then take the diaper off and go to sleep… or pee in the bed :-( , lol.
A few weeks ago Emma & Paige got to meet one of Mommy’s online friends. She brought her daughter over to play and they had a great time. There are plans to meet again someday since Avery keeps asking to see the twins…how sweet!! So hopefully when we travel the country again we can meet up.
We don’t really have major plans for the summer except we hope to have some special friends come to visit. They haven’t seen the girls in over a year so it will be interesting for them to see how much they have changed. I am sure they will love the entertaining shows the girls will put on for them when they are here. They love to show company that they can jump and play soccer. Yes, that’s right we have future soccer players on our hands. It is one of Emma’s favorite things to do. We hope to find some activities to put the girls in, maybe gymnastics or something. Either way it has to fit into our busy schedules so I hope we can find something. Whatever it is I am sure they will excel and love it!!

Anyway, enough babbling for me. I will try to do more updates. Thanks everyone for signing the guestbook & checking in on us!! xoxoxo
